What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a recognised healthcare profession that can help you to elevate your health by restoring movement and function to the body if you are affected by injury, illness, disability or pain. It often involves exercises, manual therapy, education, and advice to help people recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, or prevent future problems.Physiotherapists work with all kinds of patients—athletes, people recovering from surgery, those with chronic pain, or even folks who just want to improve their posture or mobility. They use techniques like:

• Exercises: To strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and enhance movement.
• Manual therapy: Hands-on techniques like joint mobilization or soft tissue massage.
• Modalities: Such as heat, cold, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation to reduce pain and promote healing.                                                                •Education: On posture, movement strategies, and injury prevention.

It’s super helpful for anyone looking to regain function after an injury or just improve their overall physical health.

What qualification do our physiotherapy have?

Cluster services physiotherapists are highly trained healthcare professionals, who have completed a degree or MSc. Every physiotherapist is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Our Physiotherapists at Cluster Services are university-trained experts in injury diagnosis, treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and the management of various musculoskeletal conditions, including back and neck pain. They provide personalized treatment plans to support your recovery and improve your overall well-being, utilizing techniques such as manual therapy and exercise programs.

Our Occupational Therapy Services

Cluster Services’ Occupational Therapists (OTs) are registered healthcare professionals dedicated to helping adults live independently and safely. They address challenges in daily living activities, household tasks, mobility, and home safety through personalized strategies, adaptations, and the use of assistive devices. Our OTs work with individuals recovering from illness, injury, or managing the effects of aging to enhance their quality of life.

Do you offer Virtual Consultations?

Yes, Cluster Services provides convenient virtual consultation services with our experienced Physiotherapists. This allows you to discuss your needs and receive expert guidance from the comfort of your own home, especially if you are not located in the Northeast of England for in-person assessments.

What should I wear to my Physiotherapy Appointment?

To allow our Physiotherapists to properly assess and treat you, it’s best to wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement of the affected body part. For example, if we are treating your legs, shorts would be appropriate. If it’s your upper body, a t-shirt or vest would be suitable.

Do I need a Doctor’s Referral

In many cases, you can directly access our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services without a doctor’s referral. Our therapists are qualified to assess and treat your needs. However, some insurance providers may require a doctor’s referral for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for their specific requirements. For our in-home assessments in the Northeast of England and virtual consultations, a referral is generally not necessary.

How many Therapy Sessions will I need

The number of therapy sessions required will vary depending on your individual condition, its severity, and your progress. Following a thorough initial assessment, your Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist at Cluster Services will discuss a personalized treatment plan with you, including the anticipated number and frequency of sessions. We will regularly review your progress and adjust the plan as needed to help you achieve your goals.
Our Physiotherapists provide personalized treatment plans for injury rehabilitation, pain management (like back and neck pain), sports injuries, and post-operative care. We aim to improve your movement, strength, and overall well-being.

Our Occupational Therapists help adults improve independence in daily living, manage household tasks, enhance mobility, and ensure home safety after illness, injury, or due to aging.

In many cases, you can access our services directly without a doctor's referral. However, some insurance providers may require one. It's best to check with your insurer.
